New designs of multifocal intraocular lens are now available

 Cataracts can cause blurry vision and increase the glare from lights. If a small residual prescription cannot be tolerated, laser eye surgery should be avoided. The surgeon would then prescribe an eye drop that would prevent infections and inflammation if it is necessary.
